2” Tubing End Locator

The 2” Tubing End Locator is a mechanical downhole tool used to determine the physical end of production tubing during well intervention or maintenance activities. It is a critical component in operations where it is necessary to confirm tubing length or avoid tool deployment beyond the tubing’s bottom, such as during setting packers, logging, or fishing operations.

In a typical well setup, production tubing does not always terminate at a predictable or recorded depth. The tubing end locator provides a reliable way to identify the true end of the tubing string by using a spring-loaded finger mechanism that reacts upon reaching the tubing’s bottom. This reaction is detectable at the surface, providing the operator with a clear and immediate indication without relying solely on depth readings or assumptions.

This specific model is intended for tubing sizes ranging from 2" to 2-1/2" outer diameter. It is designed with a maximum tool O.D. of 1.750", which ensures clearance inside the tubing, and includes a 1.375" fishing neck, a standardized feature that allows the tool to be retrieved if necessary using conventional pulling tools.

Threading is provided on both ends for integration into tool strings: a 15/16 - 10 UN pin connection on top and a 1 - 11.1/2 NPT box connection at the bottom. This allows the locator to be run inline with other mechanical or wireline-conveyed tools. These standard thread forms ensure compatibility with widely used downhole equipment and deployment systems.

Constructed from high-strength alloy steel, the tool is designed to withstand the mechanical stress, temperature variations, and chemical exposure typical in oil and gas well environments. While not a pressure-control device, its materials and design are selected to perform reliably under downhole pressure conditions encountered during standard intervention work.

The 2” Tubing End Locator provides a mechanical means of depth verification that does not rely on electronics, sensors, or depth counters. It is a simple, durable, and effective tool for reducing uncertainty and improving operational safety in the wellbore.

6 5/8" Mech-2 Double Grip Mechanical Set Packer

Ballycatter Mech-2 Double Grip Mechanical Packer

Available sizes: 5”, 5 1/2”, 6 5/8”, 7”, 9 5/8”, and 10 3/4”

The Ballycatter Mech-2 is a retrievable, compression-set double-grip mechanical packer designed for applications where pressure differentials from below are anticipated, such as combined stimulation and production operations. Featuring opposing slips above and below the packing element, the Mech-2 ensures secure bi-directional anchoring within the casing under varying well conditions.

The tool incorporates a built-in hydraulic hold-down system located beneath the face-seal bypass valve, enabling it to resist upward forces during stimulation treatments. A unique “Differential Lock” mechanism utilizes pressure from below the packer to actuate a balance sleeve, generating additional downward force that maintains bypass valve integrity and ensures a reliable seal.

The Mech-2 is mechanically set using a long-stroke mandrel and a J-slot mechanism. Once positioned, right-hand rotation and applied set-down weight close the bypass valve, engage both slip sets, and compress the sealing elements. The formation below the packer is then fully isolated and accessible only through the tubing. To retrieve, the tubing is raised the full packer length, automatically re-engaging the J-slot and reopening the bypass for pressure equalization and circulation.

With its dual-grip design, hydraulic hold-down, and controlled setting and release process, the Mech-2 offers a robust and dependable solution for demanding applications requiring secure annular isolation and enhanced downhole stability.

Wireline Retrievable FRN 4.5 inch SCSSSV

The FRN wireline-retrievable flapper valve, which is normally closed, is held open by hydraulic control pressure from the surface. The valve operates on a hydraulic-piston principle. To open, tubing pressure slightly higher than the well pressure below the closed flapper is applied. Once well pressure is equalized across the closed flapper, hydraulic pressure is applied to the piston, which pushes the flapper open. The flapper hinge assembly is designed so the force on the piston is not applied directly on the hinge pin. Upon loss of hydraulic pressure in the control line, the valve's large spring serves to lift the hydrostatic head of the control fluid. The flapper spring is designed to close the valve when the piston moves up past the flapper. Opening Prong Nose Seal The FRN valve uses the valve housing as the downstop for the opening prong. This metal-to-metal (MTM) interface is designed to prevent flow from passing between the valve housing and opening prong. The MTM interface isolates the flapper and seat from fluid flow while the valve is open. This design creates an MTM interface with the full force exerted by the hydraulic piston, minus the spring compression force, holding the two metal faces in contact. Radius of Curvature at Flow Entrance Halliburton conducted a study with various curvatures on the entrance to the valve. The study tested abrasive fluids flowing through different test subs and examined the resulting wear patterns. As a result, an optimum radius of curvature was determined and implemented on the valve housings of all wireline retrievable safety valves. Applications » New completions » Deep set » High pressure Features » High-strength rod-piston actuation » Non-equalizing flapper closure » Solid construction flapper made from bar stock » Spherical radius seat on flapper improves seal reliability » Sealing and seating surfaces are out of flow path of well production when valve is in open position » Designed for easy field servicing *information referenced from supplier catalog. InWaTec Combined offers specialized E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services, utilizing state-of-the-art tools to achieve precise zonal isolation with both permanent and retrievable bridge plug options. Bridge plugs are essential elements in completion hardware, designed to provide robust seals both above and below the production tubing within the casing, liner, or wellbore wall. Their primary function is to isolate certain sections of the well, which is especially beneficial in wells with multiple producing zones or when specific zones need to be temporarily sealed off during interventions. Permanent Bridge Plugs: These are typically favored for their cost-effectiveness and superior sealing and gripping capabilities. Once set, they provide a dependable barrier, with metal slips or "slips" that anchor into the casing's inner diameter using sharpened, carburized teeth. The seal is completed with large cylindrical rubber elements, and in high-pressure environments, metal rings enhance the seal by preventing rubber extrusion. Retrievable Bridge Plugs: These plugs are the go-to solution when flexibility is required, such as during secondary recovery operations, well re-completions, or when there's a need to change out production tubing. Though they may have lower sealing and gripping capabilities compared to permanent options, their design allows for removal and reuse, providing significant operational versatility. Our E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services deploy these tools with precision. The plug is conveyed into the well via wireline—a method that provides real-time depth control and selectivity. Once at the target depth, an axial load is applied to the bridge plug to initiate the expansion of the slips and rubber elements, creating a secure seal against the casing. The setting mechanism can be activated hydraulically, mechanically, or with a controlled chemical charge, depending on the well conditions and client requirements. InWaTec Combined’s expertise ensures that the most appropriate setting method is chosen for each operation, considering the well's pressure environment, the desired duration of the plug setting, and the future plans for the well. By opting for InWaTec Combined’s E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services, operators benefit from a service that combines reliability with adaptability. Our commitment to leveraging advanced technologies with expert execution means that your well operations can proceed with confidence, knowing that each zone is isolated with the utmost precision. InWaTec Combined is dedicated to providing solutions that enhance operational efficiency and well integrity. Whether you require a permanent solution for long-term isolation or the flexibility of a retrievable plug for short-term interventions, our E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services are designed to meet your needs with precision, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. 7 inch K Storm Choke

Storm Choke® K safety valves are ambient-type, wireline retrievable valves with the largest flow area of all direct controlled safety valves on the market. They are ideally suited for high-volume, low-pressure wells. These valves are normally closed and pre-charged with a set dome pressure. When the well flowing pressure drops below the predetermined dome-pressure charge because of a rupture in flowline or surface equipment, the dome pressure and main valve spring close the valve, shutting in the well below the earth’s surface. This valve contains a detent mechanism to provide a positive snap-action closure at the predetermined disaster rate of the valve. Its bore is not restricted by a flow bean. The valve is designed to resist pressure surges. A metal-to-metal poppet valve and seat comprise the valve’s primary closure mechanism. The K valve is ideal for protecting wells with declining bottomhole pressure. This valve closes in situations where a pressure decline would not activate a valve with a flow bean. To reopen the valve, the operator must fully equalize pressure either by applying pressure in the tubing from the surface or by an equalizing prong. The valve will reopen when the tubing pressure acting on the internal piston area overcomes the dome charge. Applications » Wells with declining bottomhole pressure » High-volume, low-pressure wells » Wells with no provisions for surface-controlled valves Features » Poppet closure » Large ports with capacity for high-volume wells » Designed to resist pressure surges *description excerpted from manufacturers catalogue. 10 3/4" Mech-2 Double Grip Mechanical Set Packer
