Bridge Plug Setting

Seamless Zone Isolation: InWaTec Combined’s E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services In the complex operations of oil and gas extraction, the ability to isolate zones within the wellbore is critical for effective production management and intervention. InWaTec Combined offers specialized E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services, utilizing state-of-the-art tools to achieve precise zonal isolation with both permanent and retrievable bridge plug options. Bridge plugs are essential elements in completion hardware, designed to provide robust seals both above and below the production tubing within the casing, liner, or wellbore wall. Their primary function is to isolate certain sections of the well, which is especially beneficial in wells with multiple producing zones or when specific zones need to be temporarily sealed off during interventions. Permanent Bridge Plugs: These are typically favored for their cost-effectiveness and superior sealing and gripping capabilities. Once set, they provide a dependable barrier, with metal slips or "slips" that anchor into the casing's inner diameter using sharpened, carburized teeth. The seal is completed with large cylindrical rubber elements, and in high-pressure environments, metal rings enhance the seal by preventing rubber extrusion. Retrievable Bridge Plugs: These plugs are the go-to solution when flexibility is required, such as during secondary recovery operations, well re-completions, or when there's a need to change out production tubing. Though they may have lower sealing and gripping capabilities compared to permanent options, their design allows for removal and reuse, providing significant operational versatility. Our E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services deploy these tools with precision. The plug is conveyed into the well via wireline—a method that provides real-time depth control and selectivity. Once at the target depth, an axial load is applied to the bridge plug to initiate the expansion of the slips and rubber elements, creating a secure seal against the casing. The setting mechanism can be activated hydraulically, mechanically, or with a controlled chemical charge, depending on the well conditions and client requirements. InWaTec Combined’s expertise ensures that the most appropriate setting method is chosen for each operation, considering the well's pressure environment, the desired duration of the plug setting, and the future plans for the well. By opting for InWaTec Combined’s E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services, operators benefit from a service that combines reliability with adaptability. Our commitment to leveraging advanced technologies with expert execution means that your well operations can proceed with confidence, knowing that each zone is isolated with the utmost precision. InWaTec Combined is dedicated to providing solutions that enhance operational efficiency and well integrity. Whether you require a permanent solution for long-term isolation or the flexibility of a retrievable plug for short-term interventions, our E-line Bridge Plug Setting Services are designed to meet your needs with precision, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. 3” Tubing End Locator

The 3” Tubing End Locator is a mechanical downhole tool used to identify the precise end of a 3-inch production tubing string during well intervention operations. It provides a clear physical indication when the tool reaches the bottom of the tubing, helping to ensure accurate placement of equipment inside the well.

Designed specifically for tubing with a 3-inch outer diameter, the tool features a maximum outside diameter of 2.500 inches. This sizing ensures smooth movement within the tubing while maintaining close contact, allowing the tool to operate effectively without the risk of sticking or misalignment. At the core of the design is a spring-loaded finger mechanism that extends outward when the tubing end is reached. This mechanical movement is transmitted to the surface as a tactile response, signaling that the tubing bottom has been contacted.

The tool includes standard threaded connections—such as a 15/16 - 10 UN pin on the top and a 1 - 11 ½ NPT box on the bottom—which makes it compatible with a variety of toolstring configurations. It can be easily incorporated into slickline, wireline, or coiled tubing assemblies without the need for special adapters.

Constructed from durable, corrosion-resistant materials, the tubing end locator is built to perform reliably in downhole environments that involve high pressure, elevated temperature, and exposure to fluids. Its fully mechanical operation ensures a high level of dependability and minimizes the need for maintenance, especially in conditions where electronic systems may not be suitable.

The 3” Tubing End Locator is a practical solution for confirming tubing depth when preparing the well for further intervention.

7 inch K Storm Choke

Storm Choke® K safety valves are ambient-type, wireline retrievable valves with the largest flow area of all direct controlled safety valves on the market. They are ideally suited for high-volume, low-pressure wells. These valves are normally closed and pre-charged with a set dome pressure. When the well flowing pressure drops below the predetermined dome-pressure charge because of a rupture in flowline or surface equipment, the dome pressure and main valve spring close the valve, shutting in the well below the earth’s surface. This valve contains a detent mechanism to provide a positive snap-action closure at the predetermined disaster rate of the valve. Its bore is not restricted by a flow bean. The valve is designed to resist pressure surges. A metal-to-metal poppet valve and seat comprise the valve’s primary closure mechanism. The K valve is ideal for protecting wells with declining bottomhole pressure. This valve closes in situations where a pressure decline would not activate a valve with a flow bean. To reopen the valve, the operator must fully equalize pressure either by applying pressure in the tubing from the surface or by an equalizing prong. The valve will reopen when the tubing pressure acting on the internal piston area overcomes the dome charge. Applications » Wells with declining bottomhole pressure » High-volume, low-pressure wells » Wells with no provisions for surface-controlled valves Features » Poppet closure » Large ports with capacity for high-volume wells » Designed to resist pressure surges *description excerpted from manufacturers catalogue. Wireline Retrievable FRN 4.5 inch SCSSSV

The FRN wireline-retrievable flapper valve, which is normally closed, is held open by hydraulic control pressure from the surface. The valve operates on a hydraulic-piston principle. To open, tubing pressure slightly higher than the well pressure below the closed flapper is applied. Once well pressure is equalized across the closed flapper, hydraulic pressure is applied to the piston, which pushes the flapper open. The flapper hinge assembly is designed so the force on the piston is not applied directly on the hinge pin. Upon loss of hydraulic pressure in the control line, the valve's large spring serves to lift the hydrostatic head of the control fluid. The flapper spring is designed to close the valve when the piston moves up past the flapper. Opening Prong Nose Seal The FRN valve uses the valve housing as the downstop for the opening prong. This metal-to-metal (MTM) interface is designed to prevent flow from passing between the valve housing and opening prong. The MTM interface isolates the flapper and seat from fluid flow while the valve is open. This design creates an MTM interface with the full force exerted by the hydraulic piston, minus the spring compression force, holding the two metal faces in contact. Radius of Curvature at Flow Entrance Halliburton conducted a study with various curvatures on the entrance to the valve. The study tested abrasive fluids flowing through different test subs and examined the resulting wear patterns. As a result, an optimum radius of curvature was determined and implemented on the valve housings of all wireline retrievable safety valves. Applications » New completions » Deep set » High pressure Features » High-strength rod-piston actuation » Non-equalizing flapper closure » Solid construction flapper made from bar stock » Spherical radius seat on flapper improves seal reliability » Sealing and seating surfaces are out of flow path of well production when valve is in open position » Designed for easy field servicing *information referenced from supplier catalog. • Reliable Setting Mechanism: Utilizes dual balanced pistons—one actuates downward to anchor the bi-directional slips, while the other moves upward to compress a three-element packing system. This simultaneous action ensures a secure set and pack-off.

• Three-Element Seal: The packing system uses dual-durometer rubber elements to ensure long-term sealing integrity across a range of downhole conditions.

• Slips & Housing: One-piece, bi-directional slips are housed in a shear-pinned chamber, protected by a full-diameter guide to prevent damage during deployment.

• Release Options: Features a dual-method release system:

• Straight pull via shearing of pre-set screws.

• Right-hand rotation (approx. 8 turns), followed by straight pull.

• Equalization & Retrieval: Built-in equalizing valve opens automatically during release to balance pressures and enable safe retrieval. A large-diameter bypass within the mandrel allows fluid to flow during retrieval, reducing swab effects on the packing elements.

The HP-3 is engineered for reliability, operational flexibility, and full well control—making it a practical choice for complex wellbore geometries.

7" Mech-2 Double Grip Mechanical Set Packer for 20-26 PPF Casing

Ballycatter Mech-2 Double Grip Mechanical Packer

Available sizes: 5”, 5 1/2”, 6 5/8”, 7”, 9 5/8”, and 10 3/4”

The Ballycatter Mech-2 is a retrievable, compression-set double-grip mechanical packer designed for applications where pressure differentials from below are anticipated, such as combined stimulation and production operations. Featuring opposing slips above and below the packing element, the Mech-2 ensures secure bi-directional anchoring within the casing under varying well conditions.

The tool incorporates a built-in hydraulic hold-down system located beneath the face-seal bypass valve, enabling it to resist upward forces during stimulation treatments. A unique “Differential Lock” mechanism utilizes pressure from below the packer to actuate a balance sleeve, generating additional downward force that maintains bypass valve integrity and ensures a reliable seal.

The Mech-2 is mechanically set using a long-stroke mandrel and a J-slot mechanism. Once positioned, right-hand rotation and applied set-down weight close the bypass valve, engage both slip sets, and compress the sealing elements. The formation below the packer is then fully isolated and accessible only through the tubing. To retrieve, the tubing is raised the full packer length, automatically re-engaging the J-slot and reopening the bypass for pressure equalization and circulation.

With its dual-grip design, hydraulic hold-down, and controlled setting and release process, the Mech-2 offers a robust and dependable solution for demanding applications requiring secure annular isolation and enhanced downhole stability.

Wireline Spear – Downhole Fishing Tool – 1. 1/2”, 1 3/4", 2 1/4”, 2 3/4", 3 1/2” – ISO 9001:2015

The Wireline Spear is a downhole tool used in oil and gas wells to retrieve lost, broken, or compacted wireline that cannot be engaged with a standard two-prong wireline grab. It is designed for fishing operations where the wireline has become badly balled up or tightly compacted, situations where conventional pronged grabs are ineffective.

The tool is deployed on a wireline and guided down the wellbore under its own weight. Its central mandrel is surrounded by upward-pointing barbs or slips that penetrate and anchor into the wireline. When engaged, these barbs provide a secure grip on the wire, allowing the tool and wire to be retrieved to the surface.

The Wireline Spear is designed for maximum penetration into tightly balled or compacted wire. Its barbs ensure engagement even when the wire is severely entangled. Because the Wireline Spear is effectively non-releasable, it is typically run with a disconnect arrangement above the tool. This allows the assembly to be released if the wire cannot be recovered fully, preventing the tool from becoming stuck in the wellbore.

The tool is available in sizes from 1.5” to 3.5”, with a maximum outside diameter of 1.500” to 3.500” and a fishing neck O.D. of 1.375” to 2.312”. It connects to the wireline through a top connection ranging from 15/16 – 10 UN to 1-1/16 – 10 UN and can retrieve wire diameters from 0.50” to 3.50”.

The Wireline Spear is constructed from steel to withstand downhole mechanical stresses and pressures. Its design includes a central mandrel with upward-pointing barbs that secure tightly compacted or balled-up wireline. The tool’s compact dimensions and engagement mechanism allow it to retrieve wireline that cannot be captured by standard pronged grabs, and it is generally run with a disconnect arrangement above the tool to allow release if the wire cannot be recovered.
