Ambient 4-1/2 inch SSSV

Storm Choke® K safety valves are ambient-type, wireline retrievable valves with the largest flow area of all direct controlled safety valves on the market. They are ideally suited for high-volume, low-pressure wells. These valves are normally closed and pre-charged with a set dome pressure. When the well flowing pressure drops below the predetermined dome-pressure charge because of a rupture in flowline or surface equipment, the dome pressure and main valve spring close the valve, shutting in the well below the earth’s surface. This valve contains a detent mechanism to provide a positive snap-action closure at the predetermined disaster rate of the valve. Its bore is not restricted by a flow bean. The valve is designed to resist pressure surges. A metal-to-metal poppet valve and seat comprise the valve’s primary closure mechanism. The K valve is ideal for protecting wells with declining bottomhole pressure. This valve closes in situations where a pressure decline would not activate a valve with a flow bean. To reopen the valve, the operator must fully equalize pressure either by applying pressure in the tubing from the surface or by an equalizing prong. The valve will reopen when the tubing pressure acting on the internal piston area overcomes the dome charge. The 2 Valve Manifold H Type Flange to Flange is designed for use in the oil and gas industry to connect impulse lines and transmitters. Its simple two-valve configuration allows operators to perform essential tasks such as blocking, bleeding, and calibrating static pressure transmitters or gauges with ease. This design ensures accurate and reliable measurement while minimizing the risk of leaks or process interruptions.


The H Type manifold features a metal-to-metal body and bonnet seal, which provides a secure seal under high pressure and temperature conditions, eliminating the need for O-ring seals. The valves are designed with a self-centering, non-rotating tip to provide consistent positive shutoff and reduce wear on the packing. The stem includes a back seat for added safety, and a removable T-handle ensures smooth operation with low torque. A dust cap protects the stem from contamination, and rolled threads improve durability and ease of operation.


These manifolds are manufactured to meet ASME B16.34 standards for pressure-temperature ratings and are type tested to MSS-SP-99. They have a standard working pressure of 6000 PSI, with higher pressures available upon request. Materials can be supplied in accordance with NACE MR 01 75, and temperature ratings range from -50°C to 230°C, or up to 500°C with graphite.
